Dana moved to Colorado from the Midwest for college and knew Colorado was where she was supposed to be. She has been blessed with a dog (or more) for most of her life, from raising Labradors to a beautiful German shepherd—and now with her current love, ‘Roo’, a Dingo/Red Heeler rescue
(she is also the Pawsome logo!)
After college, Dana found herself in the corporate world, working in marketing and graphic design. A twelve-year position with a Companion Animal Pharmaceutical Company made her realize that she’d be happier being with companion animals, rather than marketing to them. It was then that she began doing Volunteer work at the Animal House Rescue and was convinced.
Dana is a Positive-Reinforcement based, Certified Professional Dog Trainer and she is grateful to bring her passion for helping the dogs who need understanding, guidance and confidence building. She has recently completed her training as a Family Dog Mediator. A FDM uses Applied Ethology to put a dog’s well-being first through accessing unmet needs. Dana then can help adjust behaviors in a way that works for both dogs and their humans.
And it all translates readily into ‘living fully.’
